Amazon Bedrock AgentCore is an AWS service for building, connecting and running AI agents in production. It works with any framework, including LangChain, the OpenAI Agents SDK and Strands SDK, and with any model. AgentCore covers the runtime that hosts agents, authentication and access control for tool calls, and tracing so teams can see which steps an agent took. Billing is consumption-based with no upfront commitments or minimum fees, charged per second for CPU and memory, and new AWS customers can receive up to $200 in Free Tier credits. Each capability can be adopted on its own or combined with the others, so a team can begin with hosting and add identity controls or tracing later without rewriting the agent.
The audience is engineering teams that already have an agent working on a laptop and now have to ship it safely. That includes platform engineers who own infrastructure and security reviews, ML and application developers who want to keep their preferred framework, and enterprises that need access policies and compliance alignment inside AWS. Small teams can start with the CLI and a first agent in minutes, while larger organizations can spread agents across multiple regions.
Typical scenarios include deploying a customer support agent that calls an internal API, a knowledge base and a Lambda function in the same turn, with each call checked against who is asking. Developers use the tracing views to debug an agent that went off track, then test variations against real traffic before choosing what to release. Customer stories on the product page describe Cox Automotive scaling to 17 production agents in under a year and Druva resolving 68 percent of support issues without human intervention. Teams already on AWS can pair it with services such as Lambda, ECR and S3. Because the code that runs locally is the code that ships, teams avoid maintaining a separate production version of each agent.
