The app runs on iPhone and iPad only. No Android option exists. It uses OCR to read ingredient lists directly from packaging, which means you don't need a barcode to check a product. Point your camera at the tiny text on the back of a cereal box and it'll analyze what's listed. The barcode scanner works too, pulling from a global product database for instant checks.

What sets this apart from competitors like Scan Halal and Zulal is the Madhab customization. Choose Hanafi, Shafi'i, Maliki, or Hanbali, and the app adjusts its verdicts accordingly. A Hanafi user gets stricter alerts about shellfish and crustaceans. A Shafi'i user sees different rulings on seafood. This matters because Islamic schools differ on what counts as halal, particularly for sea creatures and trace alcohol.

The verdict system has three tiers: Halal, Haram, or Mushbooh (doubtful). It flags specific ingredients like pork, lard, gelatin, alcohol, carmine (E120), rennet, E471, shellfish, and wine extracts. The AI detects hidden E-numbers in ingredient lists, which helps since manufacturers don't always spell out what E471 actually contains.

The iOS-only limitation is real. If you're on Android, this won't help. The product database depends on what's been scanned before, so obscure regional products might not show up in barcode searches. OCR works better than competitors' older hybrid apps, but you're still reading ingredient lists yourself half the time to verify the AI caught everything.

The personalized Fiqh settings go deeper than basic halal/haram. You can set specific rules for how the app handles seafood types and alcohol-derived ingredients based on your school of thought. That's particularly useful if you follow stricter interpretations.

Free plan exists with no mentioned feature locks. Works for quick grocery runs and checking new products. The native iOS build feels faster than web-based alternatives. Just don't expect it to work on every single product in every store worldwide.
