IPRally is an AI patent engine built for prior art search, patent intelligence and drafting. It was trained on real examiner decisions starting in 2018, and it accepts any input for a search, so users do not need to craft keyword strings or hold search expertise. The product has three parts: Search for finding relevant prior art, Intelligence for watching competitors and spotting white space, and Protection for drafting claims with the closest prior art placed beside the text.
In-house IP teams at corporations, law firms and patent offices make up the user base, with more than 4,600 professionals at Fortune 500 companies and IAM 200 firms plus six major patent offices. Patent attorneys use explainable results they can show a client, while corporate IP managers use it for freedom-to-operate and invalidity answers they can defend. R&D staff without patent training can also run searches. The engine can be reached in the app, inside AI tools, or through an API for teams that want to wire it into their own systems.
Case studies describe Melexis cutting patentability study time by 75 percent, Ypsomed spending half as much time on freedom-to-operate studies, and Unilever giving attorneys more autonomy over their searches. Other uses include image search for visual prior art, classifying large patent collections, and building board-ready competitive intelligence for executives who want to know who is patenting near them and where white space remains open. During drafting, the closest references appear on the page and no change lands without the drafter accepting it.
