DrawingPics hit the front page earlier this year. Now they're rebuilding. That's either promising or concerning — depends how you look at it. They pulled their old version from sale while working on something new. At least they're still developing rather than bailing out.
You can still use the free online drawing canvas. Real magic happens with their offline app though. DrawingPics runs entirely on your Mac. No subscriptions. No cloud dependencies. Your sketches stay private.
Digital artists love this thing. Over 1000 creators have jumped on board.
Picture this: you're a concept artist working on character designs for a game studio. You sketch out a rough warrior pose. Feed it into DrawingPics. Watch it transform into a detailed fantasy character. The Draw to Real feature lets you keep refining iteratively — each generation becomes the reference for an even better version.
Precision Mode gives you tight control over line work. Third-party model support means you can plug in different Stable Diffusion models depending on your style needs. Want anime? Photorealistic portraits? Just swap the model.
Mac users only though. You'll need macOS 13 or newer on Intel or Apple Silicon. The download manager handles all the model files with retry support. Handy since some AI models are massive. No subscription fees once you've got it running, but you can't actually buy the full version right now while they work on version two.
