Civitai is a community site for discovering, sharing and using generative image models. It hosts thousands of Stable Diffusion and Flux models, along with images, videos, 3D models, articles and comics created by its members. Users can generate art directly in the browser with a virtual currency called Buzz. Green memberships add monthly Buzz and creator perks, with Bronze at $10 per month, Silver at $25 and Gold at $50.
The main audience is hobbyist and professional AI artists who want checkpoints, LoRAs and styles for their own workflows, along with the model creators who publish them. Newer creators get exposure through sections for new and upcoming creators, and established ones can use the Creator Program to charge a licensing fee or paid access for model versions. Anyone curious about generative art can browse featured images and learn from prompts and settings shared by the community. Members who run models locally use Civitai Link to sync resources to their machine.
A typical session involves browsing featured models, downloading a model for a certain art style, then generating images in the browser with Buzz or locally. Creators upload their trained models, set visibility and monetize versions each month. Higher membership tiers raise limits, with 8 to 12 images per job, queued jobs, private model slots and priority generation. Community features include hubs, a Buzz board where members tip each other, exclusive Discord channels and early access to new features. Unrestricted content creation has been moved to a separate civitai.red address.
