Arvo operates through an ensemble of 20 specialized AI agents that make real-time training decisions between every single set. The system uses GPT-5 reasoning models to evaluate 8+ variables including RIR — reps in reserve —, mental readiness, body type, mesocycle phase, caloric state, and active injury warnings. Each agent handles a specific domain. The Exercise Architect designs workout structure, while the Load Navigator adjusts weights during sessions. Cycle Intelligence learns from completed training blocks to detect patterns across mesocycles.
The technical architecture recalculates after every set, not just at workout start. Response times stay under 500ms for AI decisions and under 400ms for mid-workout recalculations. When you finish a set, the system processes your logged RIR or RPE, compares it against expected performance, and adjusts the next set's weight and rep target accordingly. This happens continuously throughout the session. The 1300+ exercise database includes biomechanical equivalency analysis, so if you swap movements, the system understands how to adjust loading based on mechanical differences and muscle recruitment patterns.
The methodology support is specific. Arvo handles Kuba Method, Mentzer HIT, FST-7, Y3T, and Mountain Dog training protocols with MEV, MAV, and MRV volume tracking built in. The AI provides transparent reasoning for every decision. You can see exactly why it selected a particular exercise, adjusted weight, or modified volume. Simple Mode removes all decision-making entirely. The system just tells you what to do.
The Ask Arvo assistant has access to your complete training history and can answer questions about your programming. Audio coaching provides guidance during sets. Pattern detection identifies trends across training cycles to flag overtraining or stagnation. Data export lets you pull everything out if needed.
Currently in beta. The system's optimized specifically for gym-based bodybuilding and powerbuilding. It won't work well for home workouts or general fitness training. The focus is narrow by design.
The free plan includes all 20 AI agents, set-by-set progression, Simple Mode, basic methodologies, and the Ask Arvo assistant. Pro costs €4 monthly (€48 annually) and adds advanced methodologies, MEV/MAV/MRV tracking, pattern learning, audio coaching, and data export. It's free during beta with a 7-day trial when paid access starts. The Coach tier runs €25 monthly for up to 20 clients, then €2 per additional client. Personal trainers can generate AI programs and track client training through this tier.
Arvo positions itself against Fitbod at €16 monthly and JuggernautAI at €35 monthly, claiming to deliver personal trainer-level guidance at a fraction of the €200-500 monthly cost of human coaching.
