Free All in One SEO Alternative — Premium Features, $0
SeoZip: link assistant, content analysis, video/news sitemaps, 12 schema types, redirects + 404 log, multi-location local SEO, SEO revisions — every paid AIOSEO feature that can exist without an account, free.
What it is
In the editor: a live Google snippet preview with character counters, and a TruSEO-style content analysis that scores your post 0–100 in real time against 12+ checks (focus keyword in title/description/slug/first paragraph/subheadings, keyword density, content length, links, image alt coverage, title & description lengths, paragraph readability). Per-post controls cover custom title/description, noindex/nofollow, canonical override, schema type, Open Graph overrides and a FAQ schema builder. Categories and tags get the same treatment: per-term SEO title, description and noindex right on the term edit screen.
Site-wide: title & meta templates with smart tags; XML sitemaps with images, split per post type and taxonomy — plus the premium-tier video sitemap (auto-detects YouTube/Vimeo embeds) and Google News sitemap; a full schema graph (WebSite + SearchAction, Organization/Person knowledge graph with social profiles, Article, BreadcrumbList, FAQPage, LocalBusiness with hours and address); a redirect manager with 301/302/307/410, regex rules with capture groups, hit counters and a 404 log with one-click "create redirect"; breadcrumbs with schema; robots.txt editor; archive noindex toggles; automatic alt text for images missing it; RSS scraper protection; webmaster verification for four engines; IndexNow pings on publish; llms.txt for AI assistants; and settings import/export.
What's deliberately absent: anything that needs an external account — Search Console dashboards, rank tracking, AI writing. Those aren't features of a plugin, they're subscriptions wearing a plugin costume. 13 files, MIT licensed, tested end-to-end on a real WordPress 7.1 install.

Server requirements & dependencies
- WordPress 6.0 or newer (tested on WordPress 7.1)
- PHP 7.4 or newer
- Pretty permalinks enabled (Settings → Permalinks — anything except "Plain") for sitemap URLs
- Nothing else: no Composer, no build step, no external accounts, no API keys (IndexNow key auto-generates)
How to install
2. Open the SeoZip menu: Search Appearance (title templates, archive noindex, image SEO, breadcrumbs, RSS), Social & Knowledge (OG defaults, knowledge graph, profiles, webmaster codes), Sitemaps & Indexing (XML/video/news sitemaps, llms.txt, IndexNow, robots.txt), Local SEO, Redirects & 404s, Tools (import/export).
3. Edit any post: the SeoZip metabox gives you the Google preview, the live content analysis score, per-post robots/canonical/schema and the FAQ builder.
Switching from another SEO plugin? Deactivate it first so meta tags aren't doubled; your content is untouched.
The prompt — build it yourself
Paste this into Claude and you'll get this product. This is the actual spec that produced the code above.
Build a complete WordPress SEO plugin called SeoZip whose goal is feature parity with the commercial SEO suites' PAID tiers — everything free, MIT licensed. Structure: a bootstrap file plus inc/ modules (helpers, meta, schema, sitemap, redirects, breadcrumbs, content, admin, metabox) and two small assets (metabox JS + CSS). WordPress 6.0+/PHP 7.4+, no Composer, no external services.
Head output: filter pre_get_document_title and print description, robots (per-post noindex/nofollow + archive toggles for author/date/search/paged, else index,follow,max-image-preview:large), canonical (per-post override; remove WP core's rel_canonical to avoid doubles), webmaster verification metas (Google/Bing/Yandex/Pinterest), full Open Graph + Twitter cards with per-post overrides and featured-image fallback. Title/description templates use smart tags: {title} {site_name} {tagline} {sep} {excerpt} {category} {author} {year}. The excerpt generator must replace closing block tags with spaces before stripping (otherwise words concatenate).
Schema: one JSON-LD @graph — WebSite+SearchAction, Organization/Person knowledge graph (name, logo, sameAs from a profiles textarea), per-post Article/NewsArticle/BlogPosting/WebPage (selectable, or none), BreadcrumbList from a shared crumb-trail function, FAQPage from a per-post question/answer repeater, and LocalBusiness (configurable subtype, address, phone, price range, openingHours lines) when Local SEO is enabled.
Sitemaps: rewrite rules serving /sitemap.xml as an index of per-post-type and per-taxonomy sitemaps (lastmod + image entries, noindexed posts excluded; disable the WP core sitemap), PLUS a video sitemap built by regex-scanning content for YouTube/Vimeo embeds and a Google News sitemap of the last 48h with a publication-name setting. Append the sitemap line and a custom-rules textarea to robots.txt via the robots_txt filter. Serve /llms.txt (site name, tagline, indexable page list). IndexNow: auto-generate a key, serve /{key}.txt dynamically, and fire a non-blocking ping on publish.
Redirect manager (the flagship "Pro" feature): own DB table — source, target, 301/302/307/410, optional regex with $1 capture replacement, hit counter — applied at template_redirect priority 0; plus a 404 log table (deduped by path with hit counts, static-asset extensions ignored, self-pruning to 500 rows) rendered in admin with per-row "Create redirect" prefill and a clear button.
Editor metabox (all public post types): Google SERP preview (title/desc/slug, live), SEO title & description fields with min/max character counters, focus keyword + a 0–100 content analysis re-run on every keystroke and on Gutenberg store changes: keyword in title/description/slug/first paragraph/H2-H3, density with occurrence count, 300+ word check, link and image checks including missing-alt detection, title/description length bands, long-paragraph readability check — rendered as a colored score circle plus a ✓/~/✕ checklist. Works in both Gutenberg (wp.data) and the classic editor (tinymce). Sidebar: noindex/nofollow, canonical, schema type, OG overrides, FAQ repeater with an add-row button.
More: [seozip_breadcrumbs] shortcode + template function with separator/home-label settings; automatic alt text for images missing it (render-time content filter + attachment-time fill, from cleaned filenames); RSS before/after content with smart tags; settings export/import as JSON; a tabbed settings screen (Search Appearance, Social & Knowledge, Sitemaps & Indexing, Local SEO, Redirects & 404s, Tools) with nonces and capability checks on every action, everything sanitized and escaped.
Explicitly OUT of scope (document why on the Tools tab): Search Console integrations, rank tracking, AI generation — they require external accounts and would betray the "no accounts, no upsells" premise.
What happened when we ran it: Claude produced the 13-file plugin — 1,325 lines — and we tested it on a real WordPress 7.1 install with wp-cli. Verified end-to-end: title/description/OG output, single canonical, valid JSON-LD graph (WebSite, Organization, Article, BreadcrumbList), sitemap index with image entries, the video sitemap catching a YouTube embed from content, robots.txt and llms.txt, 301 + regex-302 (with $1 substitution) + 410 redirects all firing with hit counters, 404s deduping in the log, per-post noindex removing the post from both meta and sitemap, and the live analysis scoring a real post 81/100 with honest mixed results. Two revisions: block-level tags concatenating words in generated descriptions (fixed by spacing closing tags before stripping), and a doubled canonical until WP core's own rel_canonical was removed.
v1.1 addition: per-term SEO fields (custom title with smart tags, description, noindex) on every public taxonomy's edit screen — noindexed terms drop out of both robots and the sitemap. Verified end-to-end on the test install.
Note: the download is the full, unrestricted plugin. The prompt is for reproducing (or remixing) the build yourself with your own Claude subscription.
v1.2 — the gap-closing release: after publishing v1.1 we audited ourselves against AIOSEO's paid tiers and built every remaining feasible gap in one session: the Internal Link Assistant (full internal-link graph scan, orphaned-content report, dead-end report and "this post mentions X but doesn't link to it" suggestions — 100% local, no crawler service), SEO revisions (last 15 meta changes with one-click restore), five rich schema types with dedicated editor fields (Event, Recipe, Product, HowTo, Job Posting — the last one is Elite-tier at AIOSEO), Author SEO / E-E-A-T (job title, expertise, profile links on user profiles, flowing into Article authorship and a ProfilePage on author archives), multi-location Local SEO, server-level redirect export to .htaccess/nginx formats, per-term content analysis, and SEO fields in the REST API for headless setups. All verified on the test install — including the link scan correctly dropping a post from the orphan list the moment another post linked to it, and both export formats producing valid server rules.
