Free Memory Matching Game — HTML5, Kids & Adults
PairZip: flip-two memory pairs with 3D card flips, three board sizes, move counter and best scores. One file, embed it anywhere.
What it is
PairZip is the flip-two-cards memory game everybody knows, done with satisfying 3D CSS card flips and a clean dark board. Pick a size — Easy 4×3, Classic 4×4 or Hard 6×4 — and find all the emoji pairs in as few moves as you can.
It counts moves and time, remembers your best move-count per board size in localStorage, locks input during the flip-back animation so you can't cheat the timing, and celebrates a finished board with your stats. Cards are drawn from a 24-emoji deck and shuffled fresh every round.
Great for kids, brain-training breaks, or embedding on an activity page. One file, no dependencies, no ads, no tracking.

Server requirements & dependencies
- Any modern browser — that's the whole list
- Any static file host to publish it (or none: the file works from disk)
- To embed on a site: a plain <iframe> pointing at the file
- No server, no database, no build step, no dependencies, no network calls
How to install
1. Unzip. You get one file: index.html.
2. Put it anywhere — a folder on your website, GitHub Pages, Netlify, a USB stick — or just double-click it and play locally.
3. To embed it on an existing page: <iframe src="/pairzip/index.html" style="width:100%;height:800px;border:0"></iframe>
Best scores save automatically in the browser's localStorage.

What happened when we ran it: Claude produced the game in 150 lines. Matching, the animation lock and per-size best scores all behaved correctly on the first run — the screenshot is a scripted session with one matched pair and one open card. Zero revisions.
Note: there is no demo restriction — the demo IS the full game, and the download is the same single file. The prompt is for reproducing (or remixing) the build yourself with your own Claude subscription.
Build a memory matching pairs game as a SINGLE self-contained HTML file called PairZip (inline CSS/JS, no dependencies). Dark theme, purple accent.
Game: three board sizes (4×3, 4×4, 6×4) from a select; cards use emoji symbols drawn from a 24-emoji deck, shuffled each round. Cards flip with a real 3D CSS transform (perspective + rotateY + backface-visibility). Flip two: a match stays open with a highlighted style; a miss flips back after 700 ms with input locked during the animation. Count moves; run a timer from the first flip; store the best move count PER SIZE in localStorage; finish overlay shows moves, time and a 'new best' callout.
